Do you think he texts in prescriptions too?

After learning from blogdad that he had given my number to The Doctor last week, I honestly wasn't expecting to hear from him.

But I did.

This afternoon.

Via text.

The message:

Hi, Always a Bridesmaid. Your dad stopped by my office with a beautiful picture of you and your parents along with your number...

Um... I'm not even sure what to do with this. On one hand, I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt with this whole texting business. Maybe he's really shy. Or maybe he's trying to put feelers out to see if I respond before he calls so as to avoid rejection.

On the other hand... seriously?!?!? Your first outreach is via text? And not even a, "Hi, this is The Doctor. Blah blah blah." What did men do prior to texting? Ugh. I am really not feeling the initial text outreach.

However, since I just declared this month Manhunt March (see post below), I will respond. The problem is, I have to text back because I don't remember his first name (it's written on a piece of paper in my office) since I can't really call him and say, "Hey, you. It's Always a Bridesmaid."

I swear, only me. Ugh.

I don't think you should text him back because it establishes a pattern...he'll think you like texting. Call blogdad and ask him with The Doctor's name is.

Seriously AAB, can't you call blogdad & get his name?

Call him back via phone & tell him you got his text, but thought it would be much better to talk.

Jane & In Too Deep -- call me old fashioned, but I think the guy should call first (Especially if he's the one with the digits). That said, if I don't hear his actual voice within the next couple of days, I will call him. March Manhunt!

texting has become officially way too much of a clutch for men these days.

i.e. it takes no balls to hit send!

but we can forgive him if he turns out to be fabulous.

My aunt attempted to set me up with a friend's son a couple years ago. I gave her my email and phone number to pass along to him.

Then he contacted me through freakin' myspace?! WTF?! Not even balls enough to send a text.

Obviously, I ignored him. Such a turn-off. And this guy was in his late 30s. Ew.

This will probably be a shocking comment coming from me, but I actually don't think this is a big deal. I bet he was texting you like that to see if you would respond to avoid any possible rejection.

I can't believe his initial contact was by text. I would definitely wait two or three days, or longer to see if he calls. If he does call, I would tell him that you didn't get his text message, and then maybe he'll start calling instead of texting.
