Another white gown (and it's still not mine)

As of tomorrow, I will officially be a godmother.

Which means yet again I will be playing a supporting role in a church ceremony and STILL NOT BE THE ONE WEARING THE LONG WHITE GOWN.

Eff.

Well, happy baptism anyhow, blognephew! Love you to pieces!

There's a new man in my life...

... and he's absolutely perfect!!

He is soooooo cute.

He smells good.

He likes to cuddle.

And he's never picked a nite out with the guys over an outing with me.

Then again, he is only a few days old.

That's right! I officially became Auntie AAB this weekend! My sissy, her hubs and new baby are doing swimmingly. Blogmom and blogdad (now bloggram and bloggramps) are ecstatic. The rest of the fam is beaming with pride.

And Auntie AAB has officially had her heart stolen.

(See? Even this cold-hearted b*tch can be nice once in a while.)

I feel really badly for my next boyfriend. He's going to have some stiff competition.

(And please, for the love of God, please do not let me get so desperate for a baby of my own in the meantime that I do this.)

Baby mama drama

Hi, guys! I had sooooo planned to write this post sooner.

It was gonna be about my drink cheating on Friday nite.

With a recap of my sister's baby shower on Sunday to boot.

But that all got thrown for a loop when my sissy (the same one we had a shower for the day before) got in a crazy bad car accident on Monday afternoon. The accident wasn't her fault, but she ended up getting hit by cars from two different directions, all the airbags in her car went off and the car was totaled.

But the baby (and soon-to-be new little man in my life) is okay. And so is she.

Phew. (And now that I know she's okay... would it have been soooooo much to ask for a cute doctor to be doing rounds while I was at the hospital? Geez.)

See? I wasn't lying with the title of this post.

So, I'll probably write more about the shower later. (Including the cake. Ahh-maaaa-zing.) But for now, I just wanted to remind all of you to be thankful every day for your sisters and girlfriends.

Because no matter whether you have a guy in your life (we all know where I fall on that spectrum right now), you will always have your sisters and friends.

And that's pretty good too. :)

Buuuuut before I go... I do have some other exciting news. (Drumroll, please.) Auntie AAB is going to be an auntie times two! That's right, folks. My other sissy is pregs too. Congrats, sis! I'm so happy for you!!! :)

So, to recap:

  • Sissy one is due in October.
  • Sissy two is due in February.
  • And sissy three (me) is due. For a date. Real soon.

Forgive me, readers, for I may sin (tonite)

No, not in THAT way.

In the alcohol drinking way.

I'm heading out tonite for a GNO with two of my girlfriends, one of whom (L) is getting married in a few short weeks. (So you know you have at least one more summer wedding post to look forward to!) Anyhow, this will likely be our last single girls' hurrah. When I told K & L that I'm alcohol detoxing (not that I had to -- they already knew from the blog), this was the response I got from K:

We made an executive decision and you are drinking.

Who am I to argue with that? Really, I have been doing pretty well about eating healthier and avoiding those nasty little friends of mine, G & T. (Gin and tonic, for those of you who are new here. And for those of you who know me well, you know it's really B & T: blackout and tonic.)

I mean, everything in moderation, right?

(Except for dating, which I'm apparently really good at not doing.)

So, I'm not a perfect woman. I'm probably going to sneak in a few G&Ts with K&L tonite. But I sorta felt like if I confessed before I do it, it will be a less heinous crime to all of you.

As for the rest of the weekend... I'll be in prep/cooking/decorating mode for my sissy's baby shower on Sunday. I can't believe I am going to be Auntie AAB in less than two months!

Hey, I'll drink to that. ;)

Oh, baby!

I know I've documented my love for the blog Cake Wrecks before. It is truly effing fabulously hilarious. (And I don't even like cake!)

As you know, most of the cakes I get to see these days are at wedding showers, bachelorette parties (made into... ahem... interesting shapes) and weddings.

(Sidenote: more cake is heading my way this weekend, when we celebrate my friend Michele's shower and bachelorette party. Stories to follow, I'm sure. Especially if I have a few blackout & tonics.)

But back to the point... the last couple days of Cake Wrecks posts have been particularly fun for me. Because they've been about baby shower cakes. (Check them out here and here.)

Why, you ask?

Because Always a Bridesmaid is going to be Auntie AAB soon! Yep, my middle sissy is pregs with my future blogniece or blognephew.

(I'm secretly hoping for a girl because the clothes are cuter, but I will take anything as long as it's healthy. And it agrees to call me its favorite aunt.)

I suppose it's only fitting. I've pretty much perfected the art of hosting a wedding shower, so I think this is God's way of letting me know that it's time for my next challenge: baby showers. One thing I can tell you is that, in no way, will any baby shower I ever throw involve games of any sort. (Well, unless they're drinking games.)

I'm also curious to see what sorts of snarky remarks this news elicits from peeps. When my sissies got engaged and subsequently married, there was no shortage of comments about me being single/the last one to get married.

Guess I need to start working on some clever one-liners now to use when someone says something like that to me. Like, "Isn't it exciting? Are you guys due around the same time? Oh, you're not pregs? My bad!" (Though I suppose that won't work on men.)

Anyhow... congrats again, sissy! (And heaven help your poor hubs for the next six or so months!) Love you! :)
