While I think it's great to be proactive, and believe in the power of positive thinking, I am afraid this girl may just scare away any guy who would even think about dating her. I mean, a guy doing that would scare me away! ...by the way, I am from Ohio too :)Ms. Emmy Nhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05124507081380758905noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-231669418519694533.post-65865372068622205832010-08-01T12:22:12.180-04:002010-08-01T12:22:12.180-04:00So this lady is doing Project Husband where I live...So this lady is doing Project Husband where I live in DFW, Texas. I saw it on the local news and read all about it on Facebook. I even watched several of her videos. I feel the same way as you. Do you think she will literally go through with the wedding without even knowing the man beforehand? Or not knowing him for very long... Is sounds kind of crazy to me but to each their own. The issue of these men not knowing is pretty unlikely if they live around here. They host public dating events and she even blogs for the local news channel. It's publicized pretty.MommaDJanehttp://mommadjane.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-231669418519694533.post-48587667540889105112010-07-29T14:45:34.067-04:002010-07-29T14:45:34.067-04:00I am so glad to have found your blog and post beca...I am so glad to have found your blog and post because I could not find this info when I Googled it last week and I knew I had heard the story on the news briefly one morning. It reminded me of David Weinlick, the guy who back in 1998 set a wedding date and then went campaigning and advertising for a wife and ended up marrying a virtual stranger at the Mall of America. They are, apparently, still married today with 3 or 4 kids. I always thought that made them both pretty wackadoodle and still do, but hey if it works for them and isn't hurting me.

That said, however, as a single woman I'm not sure I'd be willing to just set a date and make plans and then try to snag a man along the way. Strange that.Shannonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07834516052278869035noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-231669418519694533.post-21417582220475255032010-07-29T10:08:53.486-04:002010-07-29T10:08:53.486-04:00@ Lincoln-

Anyways, I don't think she's pathetic. I think she's desperate and for a good reason. She's just taking desperate measures bc she has to and some guy is going to find that super sexy - probable the type of guy she'll be attracted to. I hope she meets a lucky man. And if she does I hope she still weighs the measure of their nuptials together to make sure they are really compatible. In the end, they'll have a hell of a story to tell their kids! The Robinsonshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11307171985952961272noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-231669418519694533.post-30364797149562868092010-07-28T13:10:37.306-04:002010-07-28T13:10:37.306-04:00Lincoln-

If the woman is planning the wedding without the participation of the other half (since the other half doesn't exist at this point) it seems more like "Party for me" than "Party for us" and that seems like a bad foot to step off with.

That said, as I said originally... I think I know like 6 people who would attend my wedding so I'd be fine with "big" or "drive-through" and leave most of the driving up to her preferences. But that's an affirmitive choice on my part. And I'm rambling now, so...Lincolnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02263987740812117688noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-231669418519694533.post-10713850049968129592010-07-27T17:19:35.654-04:002010-07-27T17:19:35.654-04:00being too crazy about a marriage with a non-existe...being too crazy about a marriage with a non-existent person seems like a great way to project your values onto someone else and stay alone, or project your values onto someone else once married and end up divorced and ultimately, alone.

The whole marriage/baby thing is like some sort of social status materialism...people fetishize and covet these things but without being done right they're completely invaluable.

"no love, money, or fame is of any value if obtained by fraud."- Ayn RandMGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16420160269889261355noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-231669418519694533.post-40705053025079123562010-07-27T15:17:39.411-04:002010-07-27T15:17:39.411-04:00Alexa -- Agree!
